Zoning Out - I Heart Croatia
I've just got home from one of the most amazing trips I've had in a very, very long time. Croatia has been on my list for ages, so when my friends started to plan a hen party and said that Croatia was the destination I was hyped!
We went to Fresh Island Festival. It was fun and wild and crazy for a whole heap of reasons. Let's just say - we know how to party. Being there for the England vs Croatia game, and the World Cup final was incredible too - the buzz around the town was infectious and welcoming. But when the partying was done, and the football was over I got what I really needed from this holiday.
The chance to recharge
Taking a few hours to sit by the pool and sink into a book. Strolling through the town and picking up delicious treats from the bakery. Sitting on the rocks with my toes dipped into the water, staring at the mountains and watching the boats roll by. Sticking sparklers into a stack of donuts because we couldn't find a birthday cake. Running along the coast at 9am (I only did this once but it still counts!). Taking a pedal boat onto the sea with my bestie, giggling all the way. Feeling nothing but love between a group of girls I'd be proud to call my sisters.
These were the moments that filled my heart with joy, rejuvenated my mind and sent me skipping back to London feeling refreshed, recharged and ready to boss it!
I was gutted not to see some of the smaller islands, or visit the national parks - but when you're travelling in a big group, sometimes you need to chill and go with the flow. I know that there is so much more of this country to explore. Croatia - I'm coming back for you!
