Buy Black London
If you’re not aware - one of my main aims of this little ole blog is to support Black British owned businesses. So when I saw Buy Black London pop up on on my Instagram I knew I was going. This pop-up gives black owned business the chance to show off their brands and encourages the community to get out, show up and support with their coins. The vendors ranges from clothing, children’s books, homewares and food brands.
I booked a place on the waistbead making class for £4 and got taught how to make this beauty. It was such a calming experiencing threading the tiny glass beads onto the string in the bank holiday sunlight. I got to choose the exact colours and pendant I wanted, so it felt all the more meaningful.
The next pop-up is on 1st June in Hackney Wick - again there are a bunch of talks and workshops lined up throughout the day. I’ll definitely pass through to check out any new vendors and I encourage you all to do the same. Whether you’re on your way to lunch, coming back from brunch, or doing a bit of shopping, just take time to wander through and support where you can. Full details can be found on their Instagram page, as below.
Tickets are free, but sign up on Eventbrite so the organisers have a idea of numbers, and let me know if you’re attending!
