5 Thoughts: My Sister The Serial Killer

This was a new record for me. I thought I read Queenie fast, but damn! I read this across two days, redefining the term ‘page turner’ for me.  This book is told through the eyes of Kerode, a nurse in Nigeria who finds out that her beautiful baby sister Ayoola might just be a serial killer.

Spa With Ma

We are not spa people. I didn’t grow up having lunch dates with mum, or getting our nails done at the salon. You’d sooner find us in the kitchen with a cup of tea; waxing lyrical, singing lyrics to our favorite tunes and retuning the chords of our lives with realism and wisdom.

10 Thoughts: Zami: A New Spelling Of My Name

I’m not sure what made me pick up this book. The name Audre Lorde was familiar to me, yet her work was not, but when I saw this book and it’s intriguing cover I picked it up immediately. It was the last one. That was a sign. I held it close and sprinted to the checkout in a race against my conscious as I wasn’t supposed to be buying anything that day and had only just started reading another book. Here’s what I thought

January Review: 2019 Goals

This has got to have been my best January ever. I stayed in for New Years eve, so started the year neither drunk nor broke. I spent New Years Day doing a bit of shopping, finishing off my Year Compass planner, and meeting friends for a New Years cheers. 30 Day Yoga Challenge - Week 2

Shit got real. Moments after I published the post about my first week of the challenge I was back on the mat thinking about quitting. The first 5 routines where clearly there to ease you in and encourage you not to quit. They made me feel good about myself.

Catching My Breath

This weekend, I decided it was time to catch my breath. I decided that I wouldn’t see any friends, would try my best to avoid dating apps, restore my home to the haven it should be and look after my body a little b

30 Day Yoga Challenge

A Yoga challenge felt like the best/right way to kick my butt into gear and hopefully get me closer to where I want to be. I’m insanely impatient, so did just one quick google search, found the Do You Yoga app and decided that was the programme for me

Zoning Out - I Heart Croatia

I've just got home from one of the most amazing trips I've had in a very, very long time. Croatia has been on my list for ages, so when my friends started to plan a hen party and said that Croatia was the destination I was hyped!
